How to Perform

Follow these step-by-step instructions to perform Scaption and Shrug with proper form and technique.

    Stand tall with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a light dumbbell in each hand with palms facing your body.

    Keeping your arms straight but not locked, raise the dumbbells forward and slightly out to the sides, forming a 'Y' shape with your body, until your arms are parallel to the floor.

  3. 3

    At the top of this movement, without lowering your arms, shrug your shoulders up towards your ears.

  4. 4

    Slowly lower your shoulders back down, controlling the movement.

  5. 5

    Then, slowly lower your arms back to the starting position, maintaining control throughout the descent.
